Racquetball on Wii

Deca Sports 3 marks the first iteration of the series that takes advantage of the precision of the Wii Motion Plus peripheral to make the experience even more fun and easy to get into.

“Deca Sports 3 is a great way for families to spend time together in one wholesome, budget-conscious package,” said Dai Kudo, director of consumer products at Hudson Entertainment, which is the title's publisher.

“The same familiar, easy-to-use controls are back, allowing gamers of all ages to enjoy ten complete new sporting events, along with the addition of Wii MotionPlus,” the exec explained.

Deca Sports 3 will include ten different sporting event: springboard diving, volleyball, giant slalom, racquetball, air racing, kayak slalom, lacrosse, log cutting, half-pipe and fencing.

A multiplayer component has been included, both with local and online features. Four players will be able to compete in each of these events in the same living room.

Online, however, things get more interesting. Teams can be formed and customized, allowing the users to choose the name, colors, emblem, style and attributes. Unfortunately, only four competitions are available through the internet: volleyball, lacrosse, racquetball and fencing.

Deca Sports 3 will be launched on the Nintendo Wii on the 26th of October 2010 for the low price of 30 dollars. Hudson Entertainment is the outfit behind the current renditions of Bonk and, more importantly, Bomberman.

New WOR National Director Named‏

World Outdoor Racquetball is proud to announce the appointment of Michigan's Greg Lewerenz as Co-National Director along with Vic Leibofsky of Florida. Going forward Lewerenz and Leibofsky will share the position. This move was made necessary by the surging growth of outdoor and WOR's interest in serving the needs of all outdoor players worldwide.

Lewerenz, a past WOR State Representative and Sheffield Award winner for his contributions to outdoor has a long and storied involvement with the sport. In addition to growing the number of events and players throughout the Midwest he has served as tournament director for one of the longest running outdoor events in the sport, The Belle Isle Pro-Am. "Greg is perfect for this position with WOR" commented Executive Director Hank Marcus. WOR National Director Vic Leibofsky said "Greg is not only a leader in the game but brings the unique outdoor spirit to all, from pros to beginners."

WOR is the governing body of outdoor racquetball sanctioning tournaments throughout the world including the United States, Mexico, and Korea. WOR will host the WOR/WPH Outdoor 3-wall Ball Championships at the Stratosphere Hotel & Casino September 23-26 in Las Vegas, Nevada. This historic event will be the first combined racquetball and handball event in the sport.
